Modern Automotive Radars & Popular Types

The purpose of an automotive radar is to locate objects like pedestrians and vehicles, close to the surrounding area of the car. This particular radar comprises of a receiver and a transmitter. Among these, the transmitter delivers the radio waves which strike an object and rebounds to be extracted by the receiver. With the controlling of direction in which the radio waves are transmitted and captured it is quite possible to spot the objects' distance, direction and speed.

Types of Automotive Radars
Automotive radars are classified into three prime types; namely, short range radars, medium range radars and long range radars.
  • Long range radars are implemented for computing the distance as well as speed of other automobiles.
  • Medium range radars are majorly used to detecting objects that are present in a wider view arena, for example- cross traffic alert structures.
  • The application of short range radars is focused at sensing objects in the vicinity of the car. It is perfect for helping in parking assistance.
Based on the application, the requirement for these radars do differ. In case of short range applications, there is a need for a steerable antenna that has a greater scanning angle. This helps in generating a wide view arena. Whereas, long range applications need more directive antennas which offer a higher resolution contained by a certain restricted scanning range. The overall automotive radar market is highly advance in the present time with the significant manufacturing of vehicles at the global level.

Diverse Frequency Bands for Radar Functioning
For the operation of automotive radars there are two frequency bands which are usually preferred, which are 24 GHz band and 77 GHz band. It has been tested and analyzed that 77 GHz band delivers higher performance. On the other hand, the 24 GHz automotive radars are much simpler to develop. Their larger size is the only issue which makes them difficult to incorporate in a vehicle.

OEM Car Air Filter Segment to exhibit a CAGR of 3.1% During the Assessment Period 2017-2022

Global  car air filter market  is witnessing steady demand from all across the globe. This is due to the reason that car air filters are an integral part of the automobiles as they protect the internal combustion engine from dust particles and grime coming from the air that mixes with the fuel in the engine. If the air filter of a car is not clean, it may result in damage to the engine of the car. Besides this, the car will not function in an optimal manner and will exhibit reduced mileage and black sooty smoke or flames coming out from the exhaust if the air filter is worn out or not replaced at a proper time. The increasing sales of automobiles, especially cars, is the main driver of the global car air filter market. However, as the future of the automobile industry is centered on the electric cars, in which no fuel is burnt in the engine, the market for car air filter may get restricted during the assessment period. This is especially true of the European market, whe...
